Abstract:Objective To investigate the psychological status of pilots in a military unit so as to provide evidence for appropriate interventions.Methods 444 pilots were investigated with Symptom Checklist- 90.Results Except for phobia,SCL-90 scores were significantly different between the groups(P<0.05,P<0.01). SCL-90 scores of pilots of fighter planes in airforce were higher than those of pilots of fighter planes and helicopters in navy(P<0.01). The total score of SCL-90 of aerotransport pilots in airforce was higher than that of pilots of fighter planes and helicopters in navy and helicopter pilots in the field army(P<0.01). The SCL-90 total score of helicopter pilots in the field army was higher than that of their counterparts in navy(P<0.05).Conclusion The psychological status of pilots is generally healthy.There is significant difference between pilots of different armies and types of planes.
