Abstract Objective To investigate the current status of HIV prescreening laboratories in east part of Lanzhou Military Command in order to promote accuracy, biological safety and standardized quality management in HIV detection.Methods Field investigation and blind samples examination were used to evaluate the working conditions of prescreening labs.Results All of the twelve labs had the ability for HIV prescreening test. The process of detection was consistent with the requirement of HIV prescreening and Results of 10 samples were all correct. However, some labs also had some problems in hardware facilities, software facilities and quality management.Conclusion The HIV prescreening labs in the east part of Lanzhou military command can carry out HIV prescreening detection service. But there were some difference in quality control between labs and should take some measurements to solve the problems.
