Effect of Training Nursing Students in Real Fire Emergency Drills |

Abstract Objective To improve the ability of nursing students to deal with emergency incidents and provide rescue during disasters through simulation training according to the fire emergency plan.Methods Training plans for nursing interns were made more specific, nursing instructions were standardized, nursing interns were introduced to fire emergency plans, responsibilities of each intern were specified and simulation drills were organized.Results 99.9% of the nursing interns believed that the simulation drill helped to stimulate their enthusiasm for learning while increasing their knowledge of nursing. 97% of them thought that such drills were more effective than theoretical teaching or video lessons. 93.6% expressed the opinion that such drills could reduce their fear of fire and improve their awareness of natural disasters.Conclusion Implementation of contingency plans via simulation drills can effectively improve the nursing students' emergency response, mobilize their participation and initiative and improve their ability of s emergency response,disaster prevention and relief.
