Abstract Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of hyperbaric oxygen combined with traditional Chinese medicine and creatine phosphate sodium on carbon monoxide poisoning. Methods, A total of 120 carbon monoxide poisoning patients in our hospital from June 2012 to December 2014 were divided into the observation group (n=60) and control group (n=60). The patients of control group received hyperbaric oxygen therapy, while those of observation group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine and creatine phosphate sodium plus hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The HDS score, P300 latency, neurologic impairment score and myocardial injury markers were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the HDS score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), but the latency of P300 was significantly shortened (P<0.05). NIHSS score and serum cTNI, IMA, CK-MB levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The therapeutic effect of observation group was significantly better than that of control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen combined with traditional Chinese medicine and creatine phosphate sodium can effectively protect myocardium and neurons during the treatment of patients with carbon monoxide poisoning. The therapeutic effect is significantly better than that of hyperbaric oxygen therapy alone.
