Survaillance Results of Water Quality of Swimming Pools in Tianjin between 2011 and 2014 |

Abstract Objective To analyze the water quality and sanitary conditions of swimming pools in Tianjin between 2011 and 2014 in order to ensure the health of swimmers.Methods Water samples were tested according to Test Methods of Hygienic Standards for Public Places, GB/T 18204-2000"GB/T 18204-2000,and evaluations were conducted based on Health Standards for Swimming Pools, GB 9667-1996"GB 9667-1996.Results A total of 260 water samples of swimming pools were tested between 2011 and 2014, and the total qualified rate was 81.2%. The unqualified indexes mainly involved urea and free residual chlorine. The difference in qualified rates between various swimming pools was of statistical significance. The qualified rate of water quality of swimming pools in hotels was the highest, followed by school swimming pools and public swimming pools.Conclusion The water quality of swimming pools in Tianjin has been improved year by year, but health survaillance of public swimming pools should be strengthened, water sterilization enhanced and water replaced regularly.
