A Study on the Effects of Field Comprehensive Training on Military Academy Freshmen’S Mental Health |

Abstract Objective This article aims to probe the effects of the field comprehensive training on military academy freshmen’s mental health, mental quality and emotions, which may provide evidences for the field comprehensive training scheme.Methods The participants were divided into the experimental group (316persons) and the control group (198persons). After accepting basic training on campus, the experimental group proceeded to a distance of 330km’s field comprehensive training while the control group has been training on campus. Methods Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90), Trait Anxiety Inventory(TAI), Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) were adopted to conduct psychological evaluation for the two groups.Results①After training, the experimental group SCL - 90 every factor score significantly reduced (P<0.05, P<0.01); the Control group SCL – 90 anxiety factor score was significantly lower (P<0.01). ②?After training, trait anxiety score for the experimental group was significantly decreased (P<0.01); the control group mood every factor score had no significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion Field comprehensive training is an effective method for improving military academy cadets’ mental health and reliving their anxiety as well as depression.
