Abstract Objective To investigate the changes of fasting blood-glucose and vital signs of submarine crew during sea voyage. Methods Fasting blood-glucose, breath, pulse and mean arterial pressure(MAP) of fifty submariner who were selected as subjects were detected before, the early, middle, late and after sea voyage. Results Compared with that before sailing, fasting blood-glucose in the early, middle, late stage of the sea voyage(P<0.01) and after sea voyage(P<0.05) were elevated significantly. Compared with that before sea voyage, breath and MAP in the early, late stage of the sea voyage were increased markedly (P<0.05).Conclusion with that before and after sea voyage, pulse in the early stage of the sea voyage were increased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusions The present study has revealed that fasting blood-glucose, breath, pulse and MAP of conventional submarine crew can get significantly improved during navigation, especially in the early stage of the sea voyage.
