Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of electromagnetic radiation on haematological and urinary parameters of electronic countermeasure troops and analyze the clinical significance. Methods A total of 151 military recruits of electronic countermeasure troops were randomly selected and divided into radiated group(n=62) and control group(n=89) according to their jobs. Questionnaires were used to find out about their ages, disease history, and smoking. Morning urine and fasting blood of the two groups were detected by urine analyzer and hematology analyzer respectivelyResluts The positive rate of urinary microalbumin(mALB) and lymph of radiated group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and military recruits in radiated group had a higher positive rate of mean platelet volume(MPV) and platelet large cell ratio (P-LCR) than in control group. Meanwhile, the monocyte count, neutrophil count, neutrophil percentage, platelet hematocrit, platelet count and white blood cell count in radiated group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion Electromagnetic radiation may impair renal function and affect the number and composition of peripheral blood cells among military recruits of electronic countermeasure troops.
