某医院病原微生物标本送检质量监测

Abstract Objective To analyze the existing problems with the collection of clinical microbiological specimens, and to find effective ways to improve the quality of specimen collection.Methods The quality ofmicrobiological specimenswas evaluated, the reasons for unqualified specimens were analyzed and corresponding countermeasures were proposed.Results There were many problems in the process of specimen collection, such as specimen contamination, inadequate amounts of collection, delayed inspection, and improper temporary storage. After intervention, the failure rates of microbial specimens decreased obviously from 12.8% (between Jan 2013 and Dec 2013) to 4.7 %( between Jan 2014 and Dec 2014).Conclusion We need to improve the quality of specimens by perfecting specimen collection manuals, enhancing training on specimen collection, implementing the process control of specimen collection, and strengthening the ties between departments.
