Abstract Based on an exhaustive analysis of prevention and control of pulmonary tuberculosis in armed forces in China in the new period, the current characteristics and missions of prevention and controlof pulmonary tuberculosis as well as the precipitating factors were discussed in this paper. Countermeasurs to be taken include enhancing surveillance to improve the ability of early warning, strengthening education to improve the ability of prevention and control, improving standard treatment and the follow-up rate of post-discharge, which are exected to provide reference for the prevention of epidemics of tuberculosis in the army.
